Smart Coop

Smart Coop Sweden (SmartSe AB) is a non-profit cooperative production house and employment cooperative dedicated to supporting freelancers and entrepreneurs, primarily within the cultural and creative industries. Founded in 2012, it provides a collective platform that allows creators to manage their projects, invoices, and administration without the need to start their own company or non-profit association.

Smart offers a comprehensive infrastructure to help professionals focus on their creative work while ensuring their social and financial security:

Administrative Management: Handling of invoicing, assignment contracts, employment agreements, and project administration.
Social Security: Members benefit from the social safety net through employment with Smart, which includes occupational insurance and social contributions.

A European Community

Smart Sweden is part of a larger trans-European network operating in several countries across Europe, including Belgium, Germany, and Italy. This community consists of over 90,000 members, providing a unique platform for international collaboration and strengthening the global position of Swedish creative actors.

Vision and Ownership

Smart is a member-driven organization jointly owned by its members through Smart Frilanskooperativ, alongside partners like Intercult and Smart Belgium. Its mission is to create a socially sustainable alternative to commercial gig-economy platforms by reinvesting profits back into the cooperative to improve services for its members.
